MOTOPROGP

First organized by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme in 1949, Grand Prix Road Racing has become one of the most popular and fastest growing world championship sports.

MotoGP, the premier class of Grand Prix (GP) motorcycle racing, continues to evolve and refine itself. While key restrictions have been implemented over the past few years to ensure greater rider safety, speeds continue to increase. The current speed record for an 800cc bike is held by Casey Stoner on a Ducati Desmosedici GP8—it was set at the 2008 ShangHai China GP race at 347.0km/h ( 215.62 mph).
